A morning of outreach in Seletar–Serangoon

Neighbourhood outreach in Seletar–Serangoon

Earlier this month, on 9 May, I had the opportunity to help out at Seletar-Serangoon by distributing flowers and supporting Ms Jasmin Lau in resident communication.

It was a meaningful experience to be part of a simple but thoughtful ground-up effort to engage residents directly. Through the flower distribution, I was able to interact with residents, assist with the flow of communication, and support the team in making the engagement warm, organised, and approachable.

Beyond the activity itself, the experience reminded me that community work is often built through small but sincere gestures. A brief conversation, a greeting, or a simple act of appreciation can help strengthen trust between residents and the people serving them.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, observe ground engagement more closely, and continue learning how effective community service requires patience, attentiveness, and genuine care for residents.
